VIRUS ALERT No. 2
During the weekend I didn't bother to check the system for a virus, and today, 20 June 2005, I found one.
During the weekend, the computer was slower than usual, and a few programs failed to run at start-up. Today, the computer failed to shut down properly, so I decided to check for a virus.
The virus was located in the temp folder. So the full address was:
I have deleted that file, and the system is running ok now.
The two following links will take you to a download page. The programs are free of charge, and I personally use them. They both work on Windows 98.
It is important to run these programs every day. In addition to the virus, I found 14 spyware files. So it pays to be careful!
It is very important that you check your system regularly. For more information, please read the article Spyware, which explains in more detail about checking the system. The article Virus 1, gives information about the email viruses that I have received.
