VIRUS ALERT During the last few days, all of the email accounts at xxxx.biz (domain name withheld) have been under attack. So I have contacted my web hosting company, and obtained more information about it. EMAIL ATTACHMENTS You must never trust an email attachment! For added security, make sure you have a good anti-virus, and anti-spyware program installed, just in case. THE EMAIL The email comes with one of the following subjects:
The message will be one of the following:
If you receive an email similar to any of the above, delete it, and ignore it. MORE INFORMATION I contacted my web hosting company, hoping to trace the person who is responsible. The emails are coming from Poland, but that computer has been infected by a virus, and is being used by a remote user. I also asked two relevant questions, and the result is shown below:
FIRST UPDATE I am still under attack from this email virus. The virus is being sent to every name that they can think of, for example, john@xxxx.biz, anna@xxxx.biz. They have also thought up some new subjects and messages, so my advice is, "Never open an attachment, unless you are absolutely sure that it is safe to do it"! SECOND UPDATE That particular web site has been deleted, and the domain name withheld, for legal reasons. PROTECTION The two following links will take you to a download page. The programs are free of charge, and I personally use them. They both work on Windows 98.
